Maintec Technologies data center is now Tier 3 certified!

When companies consider moving its key Business applications and services to a Data Center, the key term that comes first is the Tiering Standard. The Data Center Tier level standards exist to evaluate the quality and reliability of a data center’s server hosting ability.

Data Center Tier classification introduced by Uptime Institute where the Data Centers are classified into four Tiers – Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4. The classification is an indication of the level of design or construction to a datacenter’s overall availability and system redundancy. Higher tier levels indicate more sustainability for data center operations and fault-tolerant systems that will allow for uninterrupted use during various kinds of emergencies or crises.

  • A Tier 1 data center is the data center that has no redundancy in power, network links, and other components. It is one of the simplest forms of data center tiers and lacks any redundant or backup supply of data center infrastructure components and operational services. A Tier 1 data center guarantees 99.671 percent availability and has an average of 28.8 hours of downtime per year
  • A Tier 2 data center is the data center that has multiple sources of power, network links, and other components. It is a center that has redundant components but only one path/source or partial redundancy in data center power and cooling resources.

A Tier 2 data center guarantees 99.741% availability with approximately 22 hours of downtime per year.

  • A Tier 3 data center is a data center with redundant and dual-powered servers, storage, network links, and other IT components. It is one of the most popularly used data center tiers, where IT components are powered with multiple, active, and independent sources of power and cooling resources.

A Tier 3 data center has an expected uptime of 99.982% (1.6 hours of downtime annually).

  • A Tier 4 data center is an enterprise-class data center with redundant and dual-powered instances of servers, storage, network links, and power cooling equipment. It is the most advanced type of data center tier, where redundancy is built across the entire data center computing and non-computing infrastructure.

Being an enterprise-class data center, Tier 4 data center guarantees 99.995% availability with just 26.3 minutes of downtime per year. We are proud to inform you that MaintecTechnologies data center is now Tier 3 certified. Our Tier 3 Data Centre is equipped with state-of-the-art technology ensuring resilient Data Centre services in Managed services and Colocation.
