In today’s digital age, digital transformation is the key to success. Even after existing for over six decades, and with all the latest technology, Mainframe remains a pioneer in providing the most secure systems and services for more than half of the world’s IT work engagements.

In this ever-changing and evolving digital business transformation, mainframe technologies are also being updated and modernized according to the need of the new phase of digitization. Through this modernization, its latest application programming interfaces help to enable the developers to achieve their targets and business goals. The IT teams that are involved in managing the mainframes have started to use the best DevOps practices to increase the rate at which the applications are executed on the platform and can be updated in lockstep with the applications running on various computing platforms.

Furthermore, IBM has cemented the effort to enable the applications to execute on the platforms at a minimum cost. At the same time, it also made it possible to deploy Linux in emulation mode on z/OS. Which drives the group of applications on the platform. It creates instances of the platform which runs IBM LinuxONe, a distribution of Linux optimized for mainframes.

According to some of the surveys, it has been confirmed that mainframe services are on a progressive path, nearly 75% do believe that the mainframe has better prospects and a prosperous future with long term viability as a strategic platform for the organization. Around 91% understood and started planning for the expansion of their mainframe presence as one of the critical priorities soon. The expansion of mainframe acceptance and adoption arrived at the same time as the public cloud expanded.
